Notice on the resumption of foreign students' application for study visas in China

Starting from August 24, 2022, the Chinese Embassy in Albania will resume accepting visa applications for long-term study in China (staying for more than 180 days).

1. Visa categories and Documents for application

X1 Visa    

Long-term international students studying in China for academic purposes  (more than 180 days)

①Original and photocopy of the admission notice issued by the University in China (freshmen), or the back to school  certificate (enrolled students);

②Original and photocopy of <Visa Application Form for Foreign Students in China > (JW201 or JW202) .

S1 Visa

(residing)

Spouse, parents, children under the age of 18, parents of spouses of X1 visa or valid study residence permit holders, etc.

①Original and photocopy of certification( marriage certificate, birth certificate, certificate of kinship , etc.) showing the relationship between the applicants and the inviting individual.

② An invitation letter from the inviting individual (a foreigner studying in China).

③A photocopy of the inviting individual's passport and residence permit.  

S2 Visa

(visiting family members)

Spouse, children, parents, siblings, maternal grandparents, parents-in-law, etc. of X1 visa or valid study residence permit holders

①Original and photocopy of certification( marriage certificate, birth certificate, certificate of kinship , etc.) showing the relationship between the applicants and the inviting individual.

②An invitation letter from the inviting individual (a foreigner studying in China).

③A photocopy of the inviting individual's passport and residence permit. 

Note: Visa applications for short-term study (less than 180 days) or non-degree education in China remain suspended.

2. Attention

2.1 Preparations before application

For online application and appointment, please refer to Notice Regarding Online Visa Application and Appointment Process

Please print the confirmation page & the application form and sign the confirmation page as well as item No.9 of the application form. Applicants shall provide the following documents: confirmation page, application form, original passport with at least 6 month of remaining validity & blank visa pages and a photocopy of the information page, original passports expired within 5 years and the photocopy of the information pages, COVID-19 vaccination certificate, colored passport photo (size: 48mm×33mm) together with documents required in the form above.

2.2 Before entering China, applicants,should be inoculated with COVID-19 vaccine approved by China or WHO. Please refer to the facilitation measures for applicants fully vaccinated with Chinese COVID-19 vaccines (including the booster shot)

2.3 Non-Albanian citizens shall provide certificates of legitimate stay, residence, work or study in Albania or the original copy and a photocopy of valid Albanian visa.
